Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has commiserated with the Dantata family and Alh. Aliko Dangote over the death of Alh. Aminu Dantata.

Dantata, aged 94, was widely known as one of Nigeria’s leading industrialists and elder statesmen, with a legacy spanning several decades.

Sanwo-Olu described the death as a monumental loss to the nation, especially to the people of Kano State and the Dantata family.

In a condolence message by his Special Adviser, Mr Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu praised Dantata as a patriot and generous nation builder.

He said the late nonagenarian used his wealth and influence to uplift many Nigerians across generations, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

“On behalf of Lagos State, I mourn Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a distinguished member of the illustrious Dantata family.

“He was one of Nigeria’s most successful businessmen and philanthropists, who touched many lives through his selfless service,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He also expressed sympathy to Dangote, describing his uncle’s death as both a personal and national tragedy.

The governor extended condolences to Kano State Governor, Mr Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the people of Kano over their great loss.

Sanwo-Olu prayed for the soul of the departed and asked God to give the family and associates strength to bear the irreparable loss.
