The Federal Government has signed the hosting agreement for the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2027, also known as the AfCFTA Marketplace.

The fair to be held in Lagos State would boost trade and investment opportunities across the African continent.

The agreement was signed on Monday at a ceremony organised by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, Iganmu, Lagos.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the state was fully prepared to host the historic event, assuring stakeholders that Lagos would deliver a memorable and successful fair.

Sanwo-Olu said hosting the trade fair would mark a defining moment for Africa as the continent continues to strengthen economic cooperation and integration.

“We are ready in Lagos to host what will be a historic and masterpiece edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair.

“This event will be a defining moment for Africa to take its rightful place in the committee of nations.

“We are determined that the 2027 edition will be the best IATF ever hosted on the African continent,” he said.

The governor added that Lagos, being Nigeria’s commercial hub, possessed the infrastructure, experience and business ecosystem required to successfully host an event of such magnitude.
