Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, on Friday, the Governor emphasised that the new appointments symbolise a renewal of excellence within the Lagos State Public Service “the very heartbeat of governance and the driving force that turns policies into real progress.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his address titled “Renewing Excellence in Public Service,” reminded the appointees that their elevation comes with greater expectations.
He said: “Your appointment is a testament to years of hard work, skill, and leadership. But remember, in Lagos, true leadership is about purpose, not privilege.”
He stressed that Permanent Secretaries occupy strategic roles as the link between political vision and administrative implementation, warning that their performance would directly affect the success of government policies.
The Governor noted that Lagos is undergoing rapid urban expansion and increasing complexity, which demands a responsive, transparent, and technology-driven public service.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening institutional reforms through digital transformation, performance management, and workforce development, urging the new Permanent Secretaries to lead the process in their respective ministries and agencies.
Sanwo-Olu further advised the appointees to demonstrate courage, creativity, and a strong sense of ethics, adding that they must be willing to challenge inefficiency and inspire productivity across government structures.
The Governor also called for greater synergy among members of the Executive Council, the Head of Service, and other senior officers to sustain a culture of merit and accountability in the Lagos public sector.
Sanwo-Olu commended the families and mentors of the new appointees for their support and urged the new leaders to serve Lagosians with empathy, diligence, and unwavering integrity.
The Governor assured that his administration would continue to provide the right tools and environment for the state’s workforce to thrive, adding that the strength of Lagos public service rests on the integrity and excellence of its leaders.
