The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anabraba announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
In the letter, the Rivers SSG described his exit from the main opposition party as a “personal decision,” while expressing gratitude to the PDP for the political opportunities and leverage he enjoyed during his time as a member.
“I appreciate the party for the political leverage gained from the PDP during the period of my membership,” Anabraba stated.
