Senator Ned Nwoko has launched a public appeal regarding the welfare of his embattled wife, actress Regina Daniels, asserting that his demand for a rehabilitation program is a critical measure to save her life and ensure she remains healthy enough to raise their two young children.
In a interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, Nwoko anchored his stance on a series of alarming toxicology results received for the 25-year-old.
He claimed his wife’s once-calm demeanor has recently given way to violent and destructive behavior, amidst recurrent health crisis.
Framing his actions as a desperate fight for his family, Nwoko stated, “I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children.”
He revealed the seriousness of the situation, confirming he had to rush his wife to Nizamiye hospital unconscious from a drug overdose on three separate occasions over the last eight months, a claim he challenged anyone to verify.
The lawmaker, who presented some of the medical findings, asserted that rehabilitation is the only way to prevent her drug access and ensure complete treatment.
He issued a strong warning that anyone advising her against proper medical care in a rehabilitation facility is her real enemy and that of her children.
Nwoko dismissed recent social media claims by Regina Daniels’ mother and siblings, which attempted to debunk the drug abuse claims, as mere denial and distractions.
He publicly challenged them to arrange for his wife to visit any toxicologist of their choice, in Nigeria or abroad, with his full financial backing to confirm the medical reports.
Addressing the public’s questions about her addiction, Nwoko sadly pointed the finger at those closest to her.
He claimed his wife’s siblings and friends, particularly her brother Sammy, have been a negative influence, exploiting her resources to supply her with drugs and deepen her addiction.
He lamented the pain of a husband trying to help his wife recover, only to have the process sabotaged by her siblings and friends, who he claimed would smuggle in drugs and are now actively shielding her from receiving essential treatment.
Nwoko also expressed dismay over a social media post by his mother-in-law, Rita Daniels, claiming his late son died from a drug overdose in the UK, denouncing it as an ihn-human attack unsupported by any autopsy evidence.
This public disclosure follows the actress’s recent accusation of physical assault and her declaration that she was no longer interested in the marriage allegations her husband has consistently denied, attributing her erratic behaviour instead to substance abuse.
