Presidential election: Osun APC chieftain congratulates Tinubu on victory

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Prof. Adeeyo Olusola Atilade, has congratulated the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for winning the 2023 presidential election.

Atilade, the Assistant State Coordinator of Tinubu Support Organization in Osun State, in a statement on Wednesday, congratulated the APC presidential candidate for the resounding victory recorded at the polls.

Recall that Tinubu polled the highest votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

According to the statement, “I salute your perseverance and determination in ensuring victory for our principal, BAT.

“This is the first time a known Progressive will lead this country.

“Congratulations to the Progressives. On BAT mandate we stand,” he said.

On Monday, during the collation of the election result at the National Collation Centre, Abuja, some party agents, led by Dino Melaye of the PDP, staged a walkout after protesting the inability of INEC to upload the result of the polls from the polling units.

Also, on Tuesday, the vice presidential candidates of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, and LP, Datti Baba Ahmed, held a joint press conference where they alleged that there was no transparency in the just-concluded presidential election.

Okowa, who is the Delta State Governor, also described the presidential poll as a sham.
