Police recover stolen Mercedes Benz, arrest suspect

The Borno State Police Command has recovered a stolen Mercedes Benz vehicle and arrested a suspect in connection with the theft.

The Command disclosed that the recovery followed a swift intelligence-driven operation carried out by operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit (Crack).

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the operation was launched after credible intelligence was received on the movement of the stolen vehicle. Acting on the information, detectives tracked the vehicle and successfully recovered it while apprehending a suspect linked to the crime.

The Command said preliminary investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the theft and identify other possible accomplices.

It reaffirmed its commitment to tackling vehicle theft and other criminal activities across the state through intelligence-led policing and collaboration with members of the public.

The police also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information that would assist security agencies in preventing crime and bringing offenders to justice.

The recovered vehicle is expected to be released to its rightful owner upon the conclusion of necessary legal and administrative procedures.
