Police intensify hunt for woman linked to Ibadan gay party

Sequel to the busting of a gay party by men of the Nigeria Police Force at a private apartment inside Bodija Estate, Ibadan, in the early hours of Saturday, 6th December 2025, the police have been relentless in their efforts to arrest and prosecute all 24 suspects captured at the party.

In a communique issued to the press on Monday, through the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, it was stated that a gang of
homosexual friends had been arrested.

The gang was said to consist of young students and NYSC corps members, mostly females, who engage in illicit same-sex practices and lure other innocent girls to participate in the nefarious acts.

Speaking to the press, Ayanlade pointed out how the indulgence of many Nigerians in the act of homosexuality has been very alarming, despite the strict laws against the forbidden sexual practices. He listed the names and ages of all arrested suspects linked to the gay party.

The PPRO further revealed that the gang had been under police surveillance for a long period of time, and the best opportunity to catch them was during the NYSC Passing Out Party hosted by some of the members.

"We mounted surveillance on the suspects and monitored every member during the gay party. Our men had to strike when the iron was hot, and that was how we were able to arrest over twenty of them. Only a few of them managed to escape. But since we have their information, they were easy to track down," Ayanlade boasted.

One suspect, who was also a member of the lesbian group, identified as Helen Asuko, was arrested along the border area of Idi-Iroko, Ogun State, on 20th December 2025 while attempting to escape out of the country.

Amanya Blessing, a police inspector in the team added that one Alao Eniola was the only suspect yet to be arrested. "Unfortunately, it was quite difficult to track down a particular suspect named Alao Eniola Omolade. She was last traced to somewhere around Odeda, Abeokuta, but she is currently out of reach"

She said: "We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to arrest all the same-sex culprits in the country. Alao Eniola may have run, but she cannot hide. The long arms of the law will definitely catch up with her sooner or later."
