Police, EFCC rescue 14 kidnap victims from Calabar

‎The Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has rescued 14 persons abducted by sea pirates along the Calabar Oron waterways.

‎The victims were freed following coordinated operations driven by intelligence gathering and inter-agency cooperation aimed at dismantling criminal activities along the maritime corridor.

‎According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, joint operatives carried out targeted surveillance and operations in identified hotspots, leading to the safe rescue of all victims without injury.

‎He disclosed that the victims are currently receiving medical attention and undergoing debriefing before being reunited with their families.

‎The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operatives for the successful mission, describing it as a result of effective collaboration and intelligence-led policing, assuring that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest those responsible for the abduction, adding that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

‎The Force reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.
