Police arrest two over burglary, N3m valuables

The Osun State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged burglary and theft involving valuables estimated at ₦3 million.

The suspects were identified as Eyelade Anuoluwa, 27, and Abdullah Musa, 28.

The stolen items included an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks, and recharge cards, with an estimated cumulative value of ₦3 million.

According to a statement issued by the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, Anuoluwa burgled the complainant’s residence on July 26, 2026, and carted away several valuable possessions.

Ojelabi said, “The brief facts of the case are that the principal suspect, Eyelade Anuoluwa, male, aged 27, burgled the residence of the complainant on the 26th of July, 2026, where he stole several valuable items, including one HP laptop, one Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, one Android phone, two power banks, and recharge cards, with an estimated total value of ₦3,000,000.”

“Through actionable intelligence, operatives attached to the Ilesa Area Command arrested the suspect in Ibadan, Oyo State, before transferring the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.”

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Intensive questioning further revealed that some of the stolen items had been handed over to a receiver in Ibadan, Oyo State. Consequently, police operatives from the SCID embarked on an intelligence-led operation that culminated in the arrest of the receiver, 28-year-old Abdullah Musa, in Ibadan.”

“The receiver confessed to receiving the stolen goods and is being investigated for his alleged involvement in a syndicate dealing in stolen property. He also admitted to buying an iPhone 12 from the principal suspect for the sum of twenty-five thousand naira (₦25,000).”

“The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Zungura, psc(+), mnips, commended the operatives for their diligence and intelligence-led approach, which led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items.”

“The Command wishes to reassure members of the public that investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ criminal network, track down other accomplices, and recover additional stolen goods. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation in accordance with the law.”

“The Osun State Police Command further urges members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons and activities to the police through the appropriate channels.”
