Cooperative in synergy with Peace Mass Transit has launched Peace Extra Comfort (PEC), a new premium line of inter-state buses designed to deliver safer, smoother, and more comfortable road travel for Nigerians while empowering the captains (drivers).
Through the Peace Microfinance Bank, Grassroots Cooperative (a registered cooperative of drivers under Peace Mass Transit), and Peace Mass Transit designed an initiative that combines financial innovation, social empowerment, and infrastructure growth.
Speaking during a press conference, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Peace Micro-finance bank, Dr Mrs. Judith Onyeishi David on Tuesday said the new transport product is targeted at enhancing better customers service to the people.
Dr Onyeishi David said that the Peace Group story began with a single bus, driven by the vision of its Founder and Group Chairman, Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi and Vice Chairman Dr. Mrs. Ifenyinwa Emilia Onyishi to connect Nigerians safely and affordably across states. From that humble beginning, Peace Mass Transit has grown into one of Nigeria’s largest transport networks with over 3,000 buses, built on integrity, innovation, and service excellence for over 30 years.
She said that Peace Extra Comfort service marks a new era in the transportation experience, combining comfort, reliability, and innovation to ensure every passenger enjoys a stress-free journey. Each bus is equipped with air conditioning, in-bus charging ports, comfortable well-spaced seats, and highly trained professional drivers, ensuring a comfortable and peaceful experience throughout the trip.
Managed under the Peace Mass Transit ecosystem and fund-managed by Peace Microfinance Bank, the Peace Extra Comfort buses redefine local travel by providing passengers with a premium, safe, and comfortable commuting experience while giving the captains the opportunity to own their own buses.
“We at Peace Microfinance Bank are happy for this opportunity given to the captains by Grassroot Cooperative because it speaks to the core of what we are about, financial inclusion at the Grassroot level.
“Funding the buses for the cooperative is an opportunity to uphold our legacy of empowering individuals, SMEs, and cooperatives through innovative asset-backed solutions.
“We’re proud to fund and be at the forefront of an initiative that prioritizes comfort and financial security for its beneficiaries and give new life to a business that has served Nigerians for over three decades. Peace Extra Comfort represents our belief that finance should enable better experiences and empower everyday Nigerians to move forward.
According to her the Peace Extra Comfort buses are now available for inter-state travel, operating across major routes in Nigeria. Whether you’re traveling for business, leisure, or family visits, Peace Extra Comfort ensures that every journey is safe, enjoyable, and truly comfortable.
The CEO applauded the federal government initiative and policies supporting the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Nigeria.
She emphasized that the initiative aims to create jobs in conversion workshops, fuel distribution, and allied services as Peace mass Transit is talking to their partners to key into the scheme very soon.
