The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has inaugurated coalition coordination committees across all political levels, as part of a nationwide mobilisation to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Former Governor and PDP leader in the state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has also joined the coalition movement.

This development was confirmed by the PDP Chairman in Jigawa State, Dr Aminu Abdullahi Taura, who spoke to newsmen in Dutse.

“Presently, there is an ongoing meeting between our leaders and those of the coalition group in Abuja. Our leader, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has been in Abuja since Monday to help form a solid political movement that can confront the APC in the 2027 general elections,” Taura disclosed.

He said the PDP had resolved, after due consultations, to fully support the coalition movement in the interest of Nigeria.

“We have resolved and agreed to join the coalition for the sake of Nigeria and Nigerians—to send out the present APC government, which has failed in delivering security, peace, unity, and national stability,” Taura stated.

According to him, the state party has set up coordination committees at the state, local government, ward, and polling unit levels to mobilise for the new alliance.

“The state coordinating committee was inaugurated under my leadership. Likewise, we have inaugurated committees at the local government level, and they are expected to replicate the structure at the ward and polling unit levels,” he said.

Taura also claimed that even members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were defecting to join the coalition aimed at unseating President Tinubu and what he described as “other bad leaders.”

He urged PDP members across Jigawa State to remain united and await further developments.
