Oyo to conduct 2025 JSS1 placement exam today

The Oyo State Government has scheduled today, July 17, 2025, for the statewide screening and placement exercise into Junior Secondary School One (JSS1).

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Olusegun Olayiwola, announced the date while addressing journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday.

According to him, the screening will commence at 7 a.m. across all designated centres in the state. He stated that pupils from both public and approved private primary schools are required to come with their writing materials.

Olayiwola directed principals and heads of screening centres to ensure thorough preparation and effective oversight of the process.

“Officials from the ministry, alongside members of the Examination Ethics Committee, will be deployed to monitor the exercise and uphold its integrity,” he said.

He cautioned candidates against any form of examination misconduct and advised parents and guardians to steer clear of the screening premises, stating that only pupils and accredited personnel would be granted access.
