Oyetola declares APC readiness to reclaim Osun in upcoming gubernatorial poll

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the upcoming Osun State gubernatorial election, scheduled for August 15, 2026.

Dr. Oyetola made this declaration on Friday in Iragbiji during a prayer session held for the soul of his late mother, Alhaja Wulemot Arike Oyetola. Addressing a large gathering of party faithful and supporters, the former governor stated that the party is well-prepared to return to power and reposition the state.

“As a formidable party, we are firmly ready and prepared to return the APC to government in Osun,” Oyetola said, reassuring loyalists that the party is resolute. “We will vote, and we will win.”

The Minister urged the people of Osun to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s socioeconomic reforms. He emphasized that rallying behind the President is essential for achieving the collective goal of national development.

Oyetola further encouraged the state’s residents to prioritize their civic responsibilities by participating in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, describing it as a vital tool for ensuring electoral success.

The event served as a significant political gathering, drawing a wide range of party heavyweights, including the APC gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and his running mate, Hon. Benjamin Adereti. Also in attendance were the APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, former Speaker Hon. Timothy Owoeye, and various former lawmakers, government officials, and stakeholders from across the state.

The gathering emphasized the party’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its base as the state counts down to the August election.
