Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated his Ondo State counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the affirmation of his electoral victory by the Court of Appeal.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji described the ruling as a confirmation of the people’s will during the November 2024 governorship election. The appellate court had dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, for lacking merit.

Oyebanji hailed the verdict as a significant win for democracy and the rule of law, noting that the consistent decisions of both the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal further validated the credibility of the election.

“This ruling is a testament to the integrity of the electoral process in Ondo State,” he said. “It also reinforces public confidence in the judiciary and electoral institutions.”

He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to take the victory as renewed encouragement to intensify his efforts towards the development of Ondo State and improving the welfare of its people.

Oyebanji also called on opposition parties to support the governor in delivering progress, emphasizing unity as essential for the state’s growth.

“I congratulate my brother, Governor Aiyedatiwa, the leadership of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the people of Ondo State on this well-deserved victory,” he added.
