Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, will resume official duties today, Monday, November 24, 2025, after completing his two-week annual leave.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, on Sunday.

According to the statement, Governor Oyebanji, who commenced his statutory leave on November 9, returned to the state earlier than scheduled on November 19 and immediately held a security review meeting with select heads of security agencies on November 20. The meeting followed reports of security incidents in neighbouring states.

The statement noted that this marks the first time the governor is taking annual leave since assuming office on 16 October 2022.

It reads partly: “The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji will officially resume office on Monday, November 24th, 2025, following the conclusion of his two-week leave.”

“Governor Oyebanji who proceeded on a two-week leave on November 9th, cut short the leave on November 19th, returned to Ekiti and held a meeting with select heads of security agencies in the State on November 20th, to review security situation in the State following security incidents in some neighbouring states.

“The two-week leave is part of the Governor’s statutory annual leave.

“It was the first time Governor Oyebanji will be going on leave since assuming office on October 16th, 2022.”

The governor also used the opportunity to congratulate members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) on the successful hosting of their 21st annual conference in Abuja.

He further welcomed the President and executive members of the Guild to Ekiti State for their Standing Committee Meeting scheduled to hold at the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort between November 23 and 24.
