Over 6.4m Lagosians captured on LASRRA portal — Alake

No fewer than 6,465,667 residents have been captured under the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) exercise, Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Tobosun Alake has revealed.

Addressing journalists during the annual ministerial press briefing commemorating the third anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term, Alake, revealed that 4,058,333 adults and 2,407,224 children have been successfully registered in the state’s residency database.

He described the Lagos Identity Card Project (LAG ID) as a key component of the government’s drive to enhance governance efficiency and public service delivery, in alignment with the Sanwo-Olu administration’s THEMES agenda.

According to Alake, the identity management initiative is designed to provide a comprehensive database for planning, policy implementation, and the effective allocation of resources.

Alake explained that the agency operates an open framework that allows multiple stakeholders including government agencies and private sector partners to participate in the exercise while creating value for residents and businesses.

He noted that this framework enables participating institutions to function independently while leveraging a centralized infrastructure for data sharing and information management.

The Commissioner further mentioned that the initiative would expand opportunities linked to the Lagos State Residents Card and support the state’s digital transformation agenda.

Regarding the Ministry’s safe city initiatives, Alake reported that improved digital traffic enforcement has tracked approximately 86,000 traffic-related cases in recent months, totaling roughly 737,000 cases cumulatively.
