Osun guber: Police vow zero tolerance for violence

The Nigeria Police Force has warned political parties, candidates and supporters against violence, thuggery, vote buying and other electoral offences ahead of Saturday’s Osun Governorship Election.
A statement by the Force says security will be jointly deployed across all 30 Local Government Areas to protect voters, INEC officials, electoral materials and other stakeholders.
It also warned that non-state groups, including vigilantes, hunters and Amotekun, have no role in election security, while firearms and dangerous weapons are prohibited around polling and collation centres.
The statement assured voters of a peaceful and secure election, stressing that anyone who attempts to disrupt the process will face arrest and prosecution.
