Osun guber: Accord Chairman, NEC declare support for Oyebamiji

The factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, and members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Thursday declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji.

Imumolen made the declaration while addressing supporters at the APC campaign rally in Osogbo, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The development came amid a leadership crisis rocking the Accord Party, with rival factions laying claim to the party’s leadership and governorship candidacy in Osun State.

In December 2025, Imumolen had rejected Governor Ademola Adeleke’s emergence as the Accord governorship candidate, describing it as illegal and insisting that his faction had produced Clement Bamigbola as its candidate for the election.
