The Osun Amotekun Corps has issued a stern warning to cult groups and secret societies, cautioning them against holding meetings or engaging in any activities that could endanger the peace and security of the state.

Commander of the Corps, Chief (Dr) Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, restated the Corps’ unwavering resolve to safeguard Osun State, making it clear that any attempts to disturb the public order would be met with decisive action.

In a statement released on Monday and signed by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu, the security outfit said the state government would not permit any individual or group to disrupt the peace under the guise of cultural or clandestine celebrations.

Omoyele called on residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security post without delay.

“Any person or group intending to organise meetings or engage in any activity linked to secret cults or societies will face the full weight of the law,” he said. “Osun is a peaceful state, and we will not allow disruptive elements to undermine the tranquillity we have collectively fostered.”

He added, “Let it be known that anyone found participating in cult-related activities will be arrested and prosecuted without hesitation. We will not entertain any act that puts lives and property at risk.”

The Commander reiterated the Corps’ commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that ensuring security is a collective duty shared by both the government and citizens.
