
Osun 2026: Former APC Lawmakers back Oyebamiji for Governor
Ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State, former legislators in the state have collectively endorsed Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
Oyebamiji, the current Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has received the backing of over 50 former lawmakers representing the 26 State Constituencies in Osun.
The former legislators expressed their support during an interactive session with Oyebamiji at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office in Osogbo.
Throughout the meeting, the former lawmakers reiterated their unwavering support for Oyebamiji’s gubernatorial bid. They hailed him as the ideal candidate for the role and voiced their confidence in his ability to lead the state.
Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the immediate past Speaker, affirmed the lawmakers’ readiness to work tirelessly for the success of Oyebamiji’s campaign in 2026. He stated that the former legislators are fully committed to the AMBO movement, pledging to rally support for him before, during, and after the election.
The meeting saw the participation of former lawmakers from the 1st to the 7th Assembly in the state, all united in their support for Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
