Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has stated that the party remains unbothered by recent defections, affirming that freedom of association is a fundamental part of democracy.
Speaking during his ongoing ward-to-ward tour in Oriade Local Government Area, Babayemi maintained that the APC is large and accommodating enough to welcome new members at any time, and urged party faithful not to worry over the movement of individuals into or out of the party.
“Anybody is free to join APC. The party is big and accommodating enough. Whoever wants to come, should come. We are unfazed and unperturbed,” he said.
Babayemi toured Ikeji-Arakeji/Owena (Ward 7), Apoti/Dagbaja (Ward 8), Erin-Oke (Ward 1), and Erin-Ijesa, reiterating his commitment to grassroots engagement. He described the APC as a party driven by empathy and welfarism, and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in achieving party goals.
Local party members at the wards praised Babayemi’s direct engagement, calling it unprecedented among aspirants. They urged him to consider the pressing challenges in their communities and pledged their support for his candidacy, expressing confidence that his leadership would address their needs and improve livelihoods across the state.
