The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ridiculed assertions by former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal that a national consensus is forming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
In a statement, the party dismissed talk of an opposition coalition as an “illusory alliance undermined by greed and clashing ambitions.”
Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, insisted that Nigerians are not mobilising against the president but are instead “rallying behind the drive for good governance.”
He described Tambuwal’s remarks as a “mask for political irrelevance” and a “fruitless bid to distort the clear outcome” of the 2023 elections.
Oladejo maintained that Tinubu was elected through a wide national mandate and has since “hit the ground running,” with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda already delivering gains in economic stability and infrastructure renewal.
According to him, with half of his first term underway, the president’s “clarity, courage, and competence” are becoming more apparent, positioning him for another mandate in 2027.
Turning his focus to the opposition, Oladejo argued that figures such as Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso remain divided by irreconcilable ambitions and personal interests.
He concluded that while opposition leaders engage in “politics of the press,” the APC is firmly concentrating on governance through infrastructure expansion, job creation, and economic reforms.
