Oloketuyi appointed new Chairman of Chams Plc

Chams Holding Company Plc has appointed Mr. Segun Oloketuyi as the Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 9, 2026.

This was made known in a notice to Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

The Board of Directors approved the appointment in line with the Company’s governance processes and applicable regulatory requirements. Mr. Oloketuyi succeeds Sir Demola Aladekomo, Founder of the Chams Group, following his retirement after a 40-year strategic leadership tenure.

According to the notice, the Board expressef its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Chairman for his invaluable contributions, exemplary leadership, and dedicated service to the Company.

Before this appointment, Mr. Oloketuyi served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of the Company, where he made significant contributions to strategic direction and governance oversight.

Mr. Segun Oloketuyi, B.Sc., MBA, FCA, is a distinguished banking and financial services professional with extensive experience spanning banking, corporate finance, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance.

He retired as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc, where he provided strategic leadership and drove the bank’s transformation and growth.

Prior to this, he served as General Manager of the Business Optimization Division, and later as Executive Director of Business Development at Skye Bank Plc. He also served as Deputy General Manager in charge of Corporate and Commercial Markets at Prudent Bank Plc, and subsequently as Executive Director of Finance and Enterprise Risk Management at Polaris Bank (formerly Skye Bank).

Mr. Oloketuyi also previously served as the Managing Director of Bond Bank Limited and began his professional career as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), as well as a member of the Institute of Directors and the Ikoyi Club. In addition, Mr. Oloketuyi is a former Chairman of Great Nigeria Insurance Plc and currently serves as the Chairman of Japaul Gold and Ventures Plc and Greenwich Merchant Bank.

The Board expressed confidence that Mr. Oloketuyi’s wealth of experience, strategic insight, and proven leadership will further strengthen the Company’s governance framework, enhance Board effectiveness, and drive sustainable value creation for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
