The Nigerian Cultural Fashion business has experienced an evolutionary beam for fashionistas as the Arivla Asoebi Party and Fashion show introduces Fashion enthusiasts into the exquisite glam of indigenous fashion.
The long anticipated Asoebi Party and Fashion Show was held at The Podium, Lagos, on Friday, December 13th, 2024, themed “Old Money vs. New Money”. The show did not only honor Nigerian fashion and culture but also created a vibrant space for fashion lovers, industry leaders, and creatives to connect, celebrate, and be inspired.
Arivla, an e-commerce platform focused on showcasing Nigeria’s cultural heritage through fashion, connects indigenous fashion creatives and vendors with fashion lovers, offering bespoke designs and curated fabrics.
Hosting the maiden edition of the Asoebi Party and Fashion Show which also marked the official launching of Arivla’s platform, Arivla showcases dedication to promoting Nigerian fashion and culture globally with commitment to celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship that defines the Nigerian fashion.
The Aso ebi party featured creative settings, such as a traditional palm wine station that reflected the beauty of Nigerian rich heritage with a venue which perfectly conveyed the theme. Guests were fully immersed in the Owambe experience with a live band playing soulful Yoruba and Fuji songs, like a traditional Nigerian party.
The ambiance was festive, with beers, palm wine, soda, and trays of small chops served throughout the evening. Models walked the runway in striking old-money and new-money-inspired outfits, gracefully interpreting the theme. Guests also embraced the theme wholeheartedly, arriving in beautiful attires that elevated the evening’s elegance.
The fashion show featured stunning collections from top Nigerian designers such as Marté Egele, Bibi Lawrence, Nichole Stylish, Black Adudu, Looks Like a Good Man, Essien, and HRH Luxury. A standout moment was T. Atelier’s collection, which was uniquely introduced through an innovative 3D AI display.
The exhibition showcased a wide range of vendors, including House of Tara, ATS Spa, Funtok Fabrics, SAS Textiles, Headies by Omah, and Maxdent, among others, giving guests an overview of Nigeria’s thriving creative sector.
However, the CEO and Founder of Arivla, Dr. Mrs. Ivy Okike-Fatusin, expressed her enthusiasm, stating: “It’s truly inspiring to see everyone not only looking stunning but fully embracing the theme with such elegance and creativity.
“This event is more than a celebration of fashion—it’s a testament to the power of culture and creativity to bring people together, spark meaningful connections, and showcase the richness of our heritage in ways that resonate deeply with all who are here.”
Meanwhile, the event also featured drink partners such as Veuve du Vernay Africa, Odogwu Bitters, Pepsi, Lisa Ice, Goldberg, and Life. It ended with an after-party encompassing grand celebration and networking.
