Okpebholo tasks new Edo Assembly leadership on unity, transparency

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has charged the new leadership of the Edo State House of Assembly to lead with humility, transparency, unity, and teamwork.

Okpebholo gave the charge on Monday when he received the House leadership led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yekini Oisayemoje Idaiye.

The governor said the meeting was to set the right tone for the new leadership and to remind them that public office is about service to the people.

“Today, I received the new leadership of the Edo State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yekini Oisayemoje Idaiye, and charged them to lead with humility, transparency, unity, and teamwork,” he said.

Okpebholo also urged the lawmakers to carry all members along and resolve differences internally in order to maintain a peaceful and effective Assembly.

He stressed that teamwork remains critical to delivering good governance.

“Teamwork is the bedrock of effective leadership. Together, we must continue to put Edo first and deliver good governance to our people,” Okpebholo added.
