Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has warned top government officials that their continued tenure in his administration will be strictly determined by measurable results and fiscal discipline.

Speaking at the opening of a three-day leadership retreat at the Udomi Townhall in Esan Central, the Governor emphasized that public office is a call to service, not a profit-making venture.

He charged commissioners, permanent secretaries, and heads of MDAs to move away from working in isolation and embrace the Edo is building Edo philosophy to achieve sustainable development.

The retreat, organized under the Governor’s S.H.I.N.E Agenda, serves as a strategic launchpad for a new performance monitoring framework.

Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, detailed the project’s success so far, including a significant jump in monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from ₦7 billion to over ₦11 billion.

Governor Okpebholo concluded by stating that every naira spent must deliver tangible value, warning that the jamboree era of governance is over and that the people of Edo State expect nothing short of excellence in infrastructure, education, and service delivery.
