Ogun deploys TRACE personnel to ease Kara bridge congestion

In response to the traffic congestion along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has ordered the immediate deployment of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) to Kara Bridge and surrounding corridors.

The directive comes amid escalating gridlock that has severely disrupted movement along the critical transit corridor connecting Lagos and Ogun states.

Recognizing the route’s vital importance to everyday commuters, businesses, and interstate travelers, Dapo Abiodun stated that TRACE officers have been mobilized to provide hands-on coordination and assist stranded motorists.

To clear road blockages and prevent further standstills, TRACE personnel are coordinating directly with relevant security units, emergency response teams, and partner traffic management agencies.

The State government further emphasized that their primary focus remains protecting lives, enforcing orderly conduct, and minimizing travel delays until smooth traffic flow is fully restored.

Governor Abiodun cautioned motorists navigating the corridor to exercise restraint, strictly comply with traffic directions and avoid driving against the flow of traffic or forming unlawful parallel lanes.

The advisory also urged operators of articulated trucks and commercial drivers to adhere to road regulations, warning that erratic maneuvering directly impairs emergency clearance efforts and compounds commuter hardship.

The state government reaffirmed that traffic surveillance along the axis will remain active, with continuous monitoring and necessary logistics sustained until standard vehicular transit resumes across the Kara Bridge corridor.
