Ogun Command rolls out security measures for hitch-free Easter

The Ogun State Police Command has rolled out heightened security measures across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, ordered the deployment of joint security forces, operational assets, and a large number of personnel to strengthen patrols along major highways and other strategic locations.

The move, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, aligns with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

He added that the command also conducted a coordinated show of force in collaboration with other security agencies to reinforce public safety.

“The coordinated operation involved patrol vehicles, tactical teams, and intelligence assets, all aimed at strengthening security presence, reassuring residents, and deterring criminal activities across Ogun State,” the statement read in part.

Ojajuni further directed the extensive deployment of officers for traffic control and other operational duties during and after the festive period.

“The Command continues to leverage strong synergy with all security agencies within Ogun State to ensure effective coverage and rapid response,” the statement added.

The police noted that the security operations will remain in force throughout and beyond the Easter celebrations, urging residents to celebrate responsibly and cooperate fully with security personnel.

Members of the public were also advised to report any suspicious movements or security concerns through the command’s emergency channels, including the Gateway Shield toll-free line and other designated contact numbers.
