The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in office, characterizing his administration’s economic policies as the vital intervention that saved Nigeria from financial catastrophe.

This unified stance was the highlight of an Expanded Stakeholders Strategic Meeting held in Abeokuta on Wednesday, where a diverse assembly of party leaders and representatives affirmed that the President’s Renewed Hope agenda has set the nation on a definitive path toward sustainable prosperity.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, who led the endorsement, described the move as a strategic necessity for the nation’s continued growth.

He argued that President Tinubu displayed rare leadership by tackling the country’s most deep-seated economic distortions, specifically the removal of the fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

According to the Governor, these bold decisions were the essential catalysts required to reposition Nigeria for long-term development, moving the country away from a period where the economy had severely nosedived into a state of renewal.

The Governor further illustrated the success of the President’s reforms by citing the significant rise in foreign reserves to approximately $45 billion and the stabilization of the national currency.

He emphasized that these achievements have restored investor confidence to the point where Nigeria is now viewed by international institutions, including the World Bank, as a global benchmark for economic recovery.

Beyond macroeconomics, the endorsement was also tied to massive infrastructure projects like the 700-kilometre coastal highway and the Sokoto–Badagry superhighway, which are expected to revolutionize trade and connectivity across the federation.

On the home front, Governor Abiodun linked the state’s burgeoning ₦17 trillion GDP and its industrial boom directly to the enabling environment created by the federal government.

He highlighted that the synergy between the state and the presidency has already resulted in commercial oil drilling in Ogun Waterside and the planned establishment of a massive dairy and cattle ranch in the Yewa axis.

By endorsing President Tinubu through 2031, the Ogun APC stakeholders aimed to ensure that these transformative projects and reforms are consolidated and protected from reversal.

The meeting also served as a moment of internal fortification for the party, with Governor Abiodun announcing the upcoming construction of a new state-of-the-art APC secretariat within six months.

He reiterated that a united party remains unbeatable and expressed immense pride in the cohesion displayed by the senators, house members, and ward executives in attendance.

The collective resolution reached in Abeokuta sends a clear signal that the political leadership in Ogun State views President Tinubu’s continuation in office as the most viable path to securing Nigeria’s industrial and economic future.
