Ogo Eko emerges as winner of NAPWPD Lagos Chapter Chairmanship election

Hon. Lion (TPL) Suprt. Apo Samson Olukunle Akinbode, popularly known as Ogo Eko has been declared the winner of the Executive Chairman election for the National Association of Persons With Physical Disability (NAPWPD), Lagos State Chapter.

The election took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Widely described as free and fair, the exercise featured delegates from 30 local government areas and local council development areas out of the 45 accredited councils within the state association.

Ogo Eko secured a decisive victory, polling 56 votes out of the 60 cast.

Following the result, he was issued his certificate of return alongside other elected executives who will serve a four-year term.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Akinbode expressed gratitude to the electoral committee, led by Elder Abiola Osiberu, as well as the delegates and members for their patience and support.

He pledged to drive a “Renewed Transformation Agenda” aimed at repositioning the association for greater impact.

“Winning this race is a challenge I embrace. I thank you all for your patience and love.I want everyone to know that we are one in NAPWPD Lagos; there are no losers in this exercise. As the newly elected Executive Chairman, I will do my best to bring about meaningful development, implement transparent policies, and ensure a positive reshaping of the Lagos State Chapter,” he stated.

The newly elected executive council includes Vice Chairman Aiyegbokiki Tajudeen, Secretary Hon. Agbabiaka Yusuf, Assistant Secretary Oladele Kehinde, Treasurer Ayobami Ali Balogun, and Financial Secretary Oladokun Seyi.

Joining them are Public Relations Officer Evg. Ugo Cul, Social Welfare Secretary Gloria James, Assistant Social Welfare Secretary Sanni Funmilayo, Organizing Secretary Oyebiyi Banjo, Auditor Pastor Falade Abayomi, Chief Whip Muinat Kazeem, and Sports Director Shodipo Lateef.
