Odu’a Chairman bags NewsDirect Icon of Corporate Renaissance Award

The Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, has been honoured with the prestigious "Icon of Corporate Renaissance" award by NewsDirect.

The award was presented on Friday during a ceremony held at the Odu’a Investment Company Limited’s Lagos liaison office.

The recognition celebrates Ashiru’s transformative leadership and his success in repositioning the conglomerate into a formidable economic powerhouse.

Presenting the award, the Publisher and Executive Director of NewsDirect, Prince Mathew Adesegun Ibiyemi, commended Ashiru for his visionary approach.

He specifically recognized the Chairman's ability to steer the organisation from a traditional legacy model into a dynamic, world-class investment hub.

In his remarks, Prince Ibiyemi highlighted the strategic strides taken under Ashiru's stewardship, particularly the revitalization of dormant assets and the pursuit of aggressive, profitable partnerships.

He noted that these efforts have not only restored shareholder confidence but have also significantly improved the company’s balance sheet and increased dividend payouts to the owner states.

“You have proven that with the right vision and political will, public-sector owned enterprises can compete favourably with global private entities,” Ibiyemi stated during the presentation. “You have not just managed the company; you have reinvented it.”

The NewsDirect selection committee observed that prior to Ashiru’s leadership, the conglomerate faced significant challenges in maximizing its vast potential within a modern economy. However, the committee noted that under his strategic oversight, the company has witnessed a definitive rebirth and a true renaissance.
