Ododo urges corps members to promote unity, peace

Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, on Thursday urged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state to promote peace, unity and discipline.

Ododo gave the charge during his visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp at Asaya, in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state.

The governor also pledged his administration’s commitment to boosting corps members’ morale through improved welfare.

He urged the corps members to uphold the ideals of the NYSC scheme by contributing positively to the development of the state and Nigeria in general.

He emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and hard work, and encouraged corps members to take their duties seriously and  demonstrate pstriotism at all times..

Ododo assured the corps members that Kogi remained peaceful and that his administration would continue to support and protect them throughout their say in the state.

“You are the future of Nigeria.

“Take your duties seriously, be patriotic, and leave a lasting impact in your host communities.

“Kogi State is peaceful, and we will continue to support and protect you throughout your stay, ” he said.

News Men reports that the governor donated an undisclosed amount of money to the corps members currently undergoing the three-week orientation programme in the state to boost their morale.

In his remark, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Mr Femi Osungbohun, thanked the governor for the surprise visit and gesture.

He noted that the gesture was a reflection of his administration’s genuine interest in the well-being of Nigerian youths.

The official  assured the governor of corps members’ loyalty and  commitment to the development of their host communities and the state in general
