Justice Yetunde Rukayat Pinheiro of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, has scheduled March 7, 2025, for the hearing of all pending applications in the suit filed by the embattled former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
The suit, which challenges his controversial removal from office, has attracted significant attention, with political undercurrents shaping the proceedings.
Obasa, who served as the Speaker for several years, is seeking legal redress over what he describes as an “unlawful removal” from the position.
The former Speaker’s legal action, filed on February 14, 2025, targets the Lagos State Government, the House of Assembly, and the current Speaker, Lasbat Mojisola Meranda.
At the court hearing today, it was revealed that members of the Assembly loyal to Meranda have filed an application to be joined as defendants in the suit.
