Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, has felicitated the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, on her 65th birthday.

He described her as a “Mother of the Nation” whose philanthropy and public service have transformed countless lives.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Dave Agboola, Obasa lauded Mrs Tinubu’s selfless contributions since her time as the First Lady of Lagos State.

He noted that her life-changing initiatives during that period impacted women, youths, and vulnerable people across the state.

He further praised her three-term record as Senator and her continuing role as First Lady of Nigeria, calling her a “pivotal force, inestimable cheerleader, and foremost partner” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in his quest for a more prosperous Nigeria.

Obasa commended the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the flagship programme of the First Lady, describing it as “significantly impactful.”

“Her work is not just about policies; it’s about touching lives and bringing about real, tangible change in our society. Her commitment to the welfare of the Nigerian people is unparalleled,” Obasa stated.

He likened the initiative to her earlier New Era Foundation, emphasising that both programmes have been focused on lifting people out of poverty through education, empowerment, and compassion.

According to the Speaker, the Renewed Hope Initiative has expanded beyond its local beginnings, blossoming into a nationwide movement that addresses pressing social issues and restores hope to millions.

“As we celebrate Sen. Oluremi Tinubu’s contributions to nation-building, we look forward to the future she is helping to create, one marked by progress, prosperity, and unity,” Obasa added.
