NYSC fixes July 7 for Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation in Niger

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed July 7 for the commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger.

The Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs Caroline Embu, said this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

Embu said the orientation course for corps members posted to Niger would be held at the NYSC Federal Capital Territory Permanent Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja.

She explained that the temporary relocation was necessitated by the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko by the Niger Government.

According to her, registration for the orientation course will begin on July 7 and close at midnight on July 9.

She added that the swearing-in ceremony for the 21-day orientation exercise would take place on July 9, while the programme would end on July 27.

Embu advised prospective corps members to avoid travelling at night while proceeding to the orientation camp.

“The NYSC management enjoins corps members to avoid night travels and wishes all course participants safe trips to the orientation camp,” she said.

The Newsmen report that the three-week orientation course is the first phase of the one-year mandatory national service programme for Nigerian graduates.

The exercise exposes corps members to paramilitary drills, leadership training, entrepreneurship development, citizenship education and other activities designed to prepare them for national service.
