Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, the Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi State has lauded Gov. Bala Mohammed for the complete renovation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp.

She made the commendation on Friday at the state’s permanent orientation camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state during the swearing in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ stream 1 corps members deployed to the state.

She expressed happiness over ongoing construction of additional structures in the camp, saying “let me use this opportunity to specially commend Gov. Bala Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to the realisation of the NYSC objectives in the state.

“There can be no better demonstration of commitment, love and fatherly care than what we are seeing in the camp now.

“It is clear for all to see that he is a great lover of the youths and particularly, the corps members.

“The management and youth corps members in Bauchi State, I wish to thank the governor for giving the NYSC a befitting camp in Bauchi State.”

The coordinator assured the government and people of the state that the youth corps members would continue to provide services where they were most needed, especially in rural areas.

She informed the youth corps members that the orientation course had been designed to equip them physically and mentally for the challenges ahead during and after the service year, urging them to participate actively in all camp activities.

Yakubu explained that a total of 1,368 NYSC members comprising 604 males and 764 females had successfully registered in the camp.

On his part, Gov. Mohammed urged the corps members to take the nation’s call to selfless service with utmost seriousness, saying that the future of the country is on their shoulders.

Represented by Mr Adamu Babayo, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mohammed said “you have a crucial role to play in shaping our collective destiny. You must not misuse this unique opportunity and you must fulfill your responsibility to the nation.

“This orientation course marks the beginning of your journey toward greater achievements and future accomplishments.

“It is designed to familiarise you with the customs and traditions of your host communities.”
