The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR, has commissioned a Fellows’ Lounge at the National Engineering Centre (NEC) Headquarters in Abuja.

The newly established lounge is a dedicated relaxation space designed exclusively for distinguished Fellows of the Society. It provides a serene and comfortable environment for informal engagements and light refreshments while members carry out official transactions at the national secretariat.

Speaking at the commissioning, Rabiu said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to upholding the dignity and status of Fellows, as well as strengthening their sense of belonging within the Society.

He recalled that the project was first announced during his investiture in January, noting: “In furtherance of our commitment to uphold the dignity and status of Fellowship within the Nigerian Society of Engineers, our administration will establish a dedicated Fellows’ Lounge at the NSE National Headquarters.”

The NSE President disclosed that access to the facility will be limited to financially up-to-date Fellows, while refreshments will be provided on request at a cost. He added that guidelines have been put in place to regulate the use of the lounge and maintain its exclusivity and standard.

According to a statement from the NSE leadership, the commissioning of the Fellows’ Lounge marks another milestone in the administration’s efforts to enhance member experience and strengthen the institutional stature of the Society.

The Fellows’ Lounge is now open to all eligible Fellows of the Society in good financial standing.
