The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that online ticket sales for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) are now open, ahead of the resumption of passenger operations on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
In a statement on Monday, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, Callistus Unyimadu, said passengers can purchase tickets via https://nrc.tps.ng or at designated stations. He added that journey time on the route has been reduced following a review of Temporary Speed Restrictions (TSR) to improve efficiency and enhance safety.
According to the new schedule, trains will depart Abuja (Idu) at 8:45 a.m., stop at Kubwa by 9:10 a.m., and arrive in Kaduna (Rigasa) at 11:47 a.m. The return trip from Rigasa is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., reaching Kubwa at 5:12 p.m., and Idu at 5:32 p.m.
Unyimadu expressed appreciation to passengers for their patience during the suspension of service, assuring that safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction remain top priorities for the corporation.
