NPFL: Upsets, goals, sanctions mark eventful matchday 26

Matchday 26 of the Nigeria Premier Football League delivered drama both on and off the pitch.

Ikorodu City continued their fairytale campaign with a determined 1-0 away victory over Enyimba in Aba, stunning the home crowd and reinforcing their status as this season’s surprise package.

There was no shortage of goals elsewhere. Shooting Stars thrilled their supporters with a commanding 4-2 win over Warri Wolves, while Enugu Rangers kept their title ambitions alive by securing a composed 2-0 victory against Wikki Tourists.

The weekend, however, was not without controversy. Kwara United now face disciplinary action after crowd trouble marred their draw with Rivers United.

League authorities responded firmly, imposing a ₦9 million fine along with a points deduction to underline that misconduct will not be tolerated.
