The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has ruled out any interest in partisan politics, declaring that no amount of money — including one billion dollars — could persuade him to join.
Oyedepo made the statement while speaking at the impartation service of the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, currently holding at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
Addressing worshippers, the cleric stressed that politics falls outside his divine assignment, urging Christians to remain committed to their God-given calling rather than chasing worldly distractions.
“Partisan politics is off my calling,” Oyedepo said. “If you give me one billion dollars to join politics, I will not, because it is off my course.”
Reflecting on past warnings he had given the church, the bishop noted that global and national challenges did not come as a surprise to him, insisting that the present times require spiritual clarity and purpose.
“In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come?” he asked.
Oyedepo described the world as being in deep distress and in need of divine solutions, pointing to biblical teachings which emphasise the role of believers in bringing light during difficult times.
“The world is groaning in darkness. As written in Romans 8:19, the world is waiting for the manifestation of the children of God,” he said.
According to him, God is raising an army of believers who will offer solutions to societal and national problems, just as biblical figures like Joseph and Daniel did in their time.
He encouraged church members to focus on their spiritual assignment, explaining that true influence and leadership come from fulfilling one’s calling.
By remaining steadfast, Oyedepo said believers can positively impact their communities and nations without compromising their faith or purpose.
Shiloh 2025 began on December 9 and is expected to end on December 14, drawing thousands of worshippers from within and outside Nigeria for prayers, teachings and spiritual renewal.
