Nollywood Mandate: Chief Aboderin baggs Pioneer, Visionary Leader Award

As Nollywood mandate group celebrates the 2024 Economic Outlook, with a day Marathon, conference and various panel sessions, the Executive board have gone extra mile to reward table shakers in the film industry amongst which is the Publisher, Guru Magazine and author, “Democracy and June 12, Chief Abimbola Aboderin.

The publisher, who doubles as the partner and promoter of ‘Ubuntu’ Documentary Film set to premiere in Nigeria on the 7th of April was honored by Nollywood mandate group with an (Outstanding Humanitarian Award) Iconic
Pioneer Award in the Entertainment Industry. Chief Aboderin was awarded during the Nollywood Mandate 2024, themed: ‘Nollywood Economic Outlook and Marathon on the 22nd, February.

While speaking to the press, the writer and Awardee expressed his gratitude to God and the group for the recognition of his works, in respect to the ‘Ubuntu’ Documentary Film, Chief Aboderin explained that the movie had premiered in Los Angeles the previous year and is set to premiere in Nigeria on the 7th of April.

Meanwhile, the founder, Nollywood Mandate and Pioneer of the Award; Don Pedro Aganbi, while presenting the original Pioneer and Visionary Leader in the film industry award to Chief Abimbola Aboderin, remarked, ‘Chief Aboderin is a living, leading legend in the Entertainment Industry and a Philanthropist of great repute, he has championed entertainment
content, promotions and developmental changes spanning over five decades.

‘Indeed, when the history of the entertainment industry in Nigeria is written,
Chief Abimbola, Aboderin surely would earn a chapter as a man who disrupted
an Ohgarchic Convention for the benefit of mankind’. Mr Aganbi further said that It is on record that in 1989, the chief practically revolutionized the Nigeria movie
industry when he produced the blockbuster movie “Hostages” in his house.

He explained, ‘Chief Aboderin formed a famous musical band tagged ‘Imperial Band’ in 1966 and brought to Africa the globally acclaimed show. “Sunsplash” which was a hit globally among the first major’

However, Executive Secretary/CEO, Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, Mrs. Bukola Agbaminoja encouraged the organizers of the event, Nollywood Mandate Group of the event. For a job well done and affirms the board’s support at all times for the development of the industry.
