Nollywood Mandate: Chief Aboderin baggs Pioneer, Visionary Leader Award

As Nollywood mandate group celebrates the 2024 Economic Outlook, with a day Marathon, conference and various panel sessions, the Executive board have gone extra mile to reward table shakers in the film industry amongst which is the Publisher, Guru Magazine and author, “Democracy and June 12, Chief Abimbola Aboderin.

The publisher, who doubles as the partner and promoter of ‘Ubuntu’ Documentary Film set to premiere in Nigeria on the 7th of April was honored by Nollywood mandate group with an (Outstanding Humanitarian Award) Iconic
Pioneer Award in the Entertainment Industry. Chief Aboderin was awarded during the Nollywood Mandate 2024, themed: ‘Nollywood Economic Outlook and Marathon on the 22nd, February.

While speaking to the press, the writer and Awardee expressed his gratitude to God and the group for the recognition of his works, in respect to the ‘Ubuntu’ Documentary Film, Chief Aboderin explained that the movie had premiered in Los Angeles the previous year and is set to premiere in Nigeria on the 7th of April.

Meanwhile, the founder, Nollywood Mandate and Pioneer of the Award; Don Pedro Aganbi, while presenting the original Pioneer and Visionary Leader in the film industry award to Chief Abimbola Aboderin, remarked, ‘Chief Aboderin is a living, leading legend in the Entertainment Industry and a Philanthropist of great repute, he has championed entertainment
content, promotions and developmental changes spanning over five decades.

‘Indeed, when the history of the entertainment industry in Nigeria is written,
Chief Abimbola, Aboderin surely would earn a chapter as a man who disrupted
an Ohgarchic Convention for the benefit of mankind’. Mr Aganbi further said that It is on record that in 1989, the chief practically revolutionized the Nigeria movie
industry when he produced the blockbuster movie “Hostages” in his house.

He explained, ‘Chief Aboderin formed a famous musical band tagged ‘Imperial Band’ in 1966 and brought to Africa the globally acclaimed show. “Sunsplash” which was a hit globally among the first major’

However, Executive Secretary/CEO, Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, Mrs. Bukola Agbaminoja encouraged the organizers of the event, Nollywood Mandate Group of the event. For a job well done and affirms the board’s support at all times for the development of the industry.

Seyi Tinubu has offered to reconcile Wizkid, Davido – Lege Miami

Nigerian actor and singer, Adams Kehinde, popularly known as Lege Miami, has said the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, has offered warring Afrobeats stars, Wizkid and Davido.

Wizkid and Davido were recently engaged in a fierce social media war on X.

Reacting, Lege Miami cautioned the duo to put themselves in order, saying he has reported the issue to Seyi Tinubu.

Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram account, the actor said Tinubu has offered to reconcile Wizkid and Davido in the United Kingdom.

He said, “Wizkid and Davido both of you need to take time. I have reported you guys to Seyi Tinubu, he said he’ll fly to UK in three days to settle the fight.”

Efforts to reconcile Wizkid and Davido over the years have proved abortive, as the duo always rekindles their beef after every reconciliation.

Drop hit song, stop chasing clout – Doyin, Tacha blast Wizkid

Ex-Big Brother Naija housemates, Doyin and Tacha, have slammed Wizkid for ‘chasing clout’ and disrespecting Don Jazzy on social media.

NEWSMEN  reported that Wizkid was on a banter spree on Monday after throwing shade at Davido and Don Jazzy on X.

Reacting, Doyin said the Starboy boss was chasing clout and should desist to focus on releasing songs.

She particularly lashed out at Wizkid for “disrespecting” Don Jazzy.

She wrote on her Instagram page: “Don Jazzy is still the JayZ of the Nigerian music industry. If you try to disrespect him, it just shows your head is not correct. No be to dey chase clout, drop hit!”

Tacha warned Wizkid that any slander or disrespect towards Don Jazzy would not be tolerated.

Speaking in a video message on her social media, Tacha noted that Don Jazzy has made significant impacts on the Nigerian music industry.

Tacha said: “No Don Jazzy slander will be tolerated. Don Jazzy’s impact on the entertainment industry can never be overemphasized.

“If you have to take off Don Jazzy’s inputs on the industry, that would be you taking half of Afrobeats away. Because who would you be listening to? Don Jazzy has grown a lot of global superstars.

“This is somebody that doesn’t restrict himself to the music industry alone. Don Jazzy is there for everybody regardless of their status.”

‘Retire from music if you’re fed up’ – Israel DMW tells Wizkid

Davido’s Logistics Manager, Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, has wadded into the beef between his boss and Wizkid.

NEWSMEN  reports that Wizkid and Davido were engaged in a fierce social media war on X on Monday.

Reacting via his Instagram story, Israel DMW stated that he was disappointed with Wizkid’s behaviour, stressing that Davido had done nothing to deserve it.

He urged Wizkid to retire from the music industry “honourably” if he is fed up.

He also berated him for shading ace music executive, Don Jazzy.

Israel DMW wrote: “I use to like everything about you, thinking you’re a human being. I never knew you’re a fully daft headed human being. Why dis continous jealousy and hatred? Did oga [Davido] stops you from releasing ur own back to back sweet hits?

“He has never in anytime said anything bad of you at all. You you just keep hating him for nothing sake. Retire from music if you’re fed up. Resign honourably. Who the hell are you? You’re just a small dwarf. You will be taught a lesson, if you’re not careful.

“You’re an idiot. A whole Don Baba? Na ur mate? Ugbeowagbon, Usaloa.”
