NOA urges peaceful, orderly campaign ahead of 2027 general elections

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on politicians, candidates, party members and electorates, to ensure peaceful, orderly and issue-based campaigns, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Ahmad Tijjani, Director of the agency in Jigawa, made the call in a statement by Sarah Ogodo, Head of Media and Communication, in Dutse.
Tijjani said the call was imperative as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had released timetable for the commencement of campaigns for the upcoming general elections.
He emphasised the need for all stakeholders in the electioneering process, to be decorous as well as uphold democratic values.
The director added that the agency would soon embark on massive public enlightenment campaigns across the state ahead of the elections.
According to him, the campaigns will focus on voter education, including how to identify party symbols and cast votes for candidates of choice.
He added that the sensitisation would also focus on monitoring of campaign activities to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.
Tijjani further stated that part of the agency’s mandate was to publicise government policies, programs, as well as provide credible feedback to the government and orient citizens on core national values.
He therefore, urged all political actors and citizens of the state to prioritise peace, tolerance and unity, before, during and after the elections.
