As part of a strategic push to deepen ICT penetration and promote an inclusive digital economy across Nigeria, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has flagged off its ‘DL4ALL’ National Awareness Campaign in Kano and Bauchi States.
The initiative is designed to advance key elements of the agency’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), specifically focusing on fostering digital literacy, cultivating talent, and promoting inclusive access to digital infrastructure.
The campaign also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which sets an ambitious target of achieving 70 percent digital literacy by 2027.
In Kano State, the sensitization drive commenced at the Zoo Road takeoff point, moving through the bustling Tarauni market before culminating at the Farm Center GSM market, where it attracted significant interest from traders and the general public.
Simultaneously in Bauchi, the rally kicked off at Pali Suite in the New GRA, proceeding through strategic locations including Government House Street, the Emir’s Palace, Wunti Market, Muda Lawal Market, and the GSM Village. The procession moved through the Central Market and eventually concluded at Kano Road.
The events featured lively participation from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, creative influencers, entertainers, and local market communities.
Participants carried banners and actively engaged vendors and shoppers, demonstrating how mobile applications can be leveraged to improve daily living and enhance business operations.
By blending awareness with direct engagement, NITDA aims to make digital literacy more relatable to everyday Nigerians, reinforcing its commitment to building a digitally empowered, innovative, and inclusive nation through strategic partnerships and strengthened digital trust.
