Nigeria’s Inflation rate eases to 14.45% in Nov 2025

Nigeria’s headline inflation rate moderated significantly to 14.45% in November 2025, a notable slowdown from the 16.05% recorded in the previous month, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

This decline of 1.6 percentage points month-on-month indicates a reduction in price pressures across the economy after several months of high inflation. Year-on-year, the inflation rate also showed improvement, falling by 20.15 percentage points compared to November 2024, when it stood at 34.60%.

On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate in November 2025 was 1.22%, which is a slight increase from the 0.93% recorded in October 2025. This suggests that while the overall inflation rate is easing, the rate of increase in average prices has slightly risen.

Food inflation also saw a significant decline, dropping to 11.08% in November 2025 from 13.12% in October. Compared to the same month in the previous year, food inflation decreased by 28.85 percentage points, from 39.93% in November 2024.

The NBS attributed the notable decline in annual food inflation to the adjustment in the base year used for calculation, highlighting how methodological changes can impact the inflation figures.
