NGX closes negatively as market declines by 0.07% on Monday

Trading activities on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) returned to decline by 0.07 per cent yesterday, and this occurred due to depreciation in price of some stocks like Conoil oil, Redstarex, Rtbriscoe and others.

However, All-Share Index diminished by 38.22 basis points representing 0.07 per cent to close trade at 51,791.45 basis points from 51,829.67 basis points it closed the past week on Friday.

Volume of trade diminished by 13 per cent as investors bought and sold 194.121 million units from 223.110 million units it closed trade on Friday last trading day valued by N2.822 billion exchanged in 4,899 deals.

From the released of Nigerian exchange Limited (NGX), Fidson led the gainers as it gained 9.82 per cent or 1.10 kobo increased to close trade at N12.30 per share, Learnafrica the second in line went up by 9.78 per cent or 0.22 kobo increased to close trade at N2.47 per share.

UPDC rose by 0.10 kobo to close trade at N1.13 per share while Prestige Assurance moved up by 8.33 per cent to close trade at N0.39 per share and Regalins which recorded as the last fifth gainer grew by 7.69 per cent or 0.02 kobo to close trade at N0.29 per share.

On the losers table, Conoil oil emerged as the most loser which dipped by 9.90 per cent or 2.85 kobo to close trade at N25.95 per share, as Redstarex  and Rtbriscoe lost by the same percent of 9.09 or 0.25 and 0.04 kobo each to close trade at N2.50 and N0.40 per share respectively.

Cutix which recorded as the last fourth loser declined by 0.19 kobo or 7.69 per cent to close trade at N2.28 per share and Unity bank which recorded as the last fifth decliner dropped by 6.67 per cent or 0.03 kobo to close trade at N0.42 per share.

At the close of trade yesterday, Transcorp was seen recorded as the highest traded stock in terms of volume which accounted 25.074 million shares worth N31.769 million, Guaranty Trust Holding Company transacted 20.176 million shares worth N413.019 million, while United Bank of Africa traded 17.593 million shares valued at N131.220 million.

AIICO insurance sold 13.607 million shares valued at N8.323 million and First Bank Holding of Nigeria traded 11.634 million shares valued at N131.920 million.
