NewsDirect TV appoints MD, two others as Directors

NewsDirect TV, a subsidiary of NewsDirect Global Concepts Ltd (publishers of Nigerian NewsDirect), has announced the appointment of a Managing Director and two Executive Directors to lead the organization.

The new appointees are Miss Shindara Ibiyemi, who will serve as Managing Director, alongside Mrs. Abidemi Dapo-Amodu and Miss Favour Ibiyemi, who will both serve as Executive Directors.

In a notice issued by the Chairman of the Board of NewsDirect TV, Olawale Ibiyemi, the board emphasized that these strategic appointments are aimed at repositioning the brand for greater profitability and deepening its market growth among competitors.

The Chairman noted that the new appointees bring a blend of innovation, energy, and experience necessary for the strategic growth the company envisions.

He added that the primary goal is for the digital TV arm to reach a wider audience while consolidating achievements in the print and digital media space, expressing confidence that the organization will surpass $500,000 in revenue and attract over 250,000 viewers within the next three years.

Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, Miss Shindara Ibiyemi was a vital member of the broader digital media team at NewsDirect Media Group. She worked across several roles, including Website Content Associate, Marketing Executive, and Digital Content Associate, and most recently served as the Team Lead for NewsDirect Insights.

Mrs. Dapo-Amodu brings over a decade of experience in corporate law and advisory services to her new role as Executive Director. She sits on the management team of Onpoint Foods, a thriving culinary and catering service business and also serves on the board of directors of Lighthouse, a human resources company.

Miss Favour Ibiyemi also joins the leadership team with four years of experience managing content and brand positioning for various organizations, including RS Spaces, Elvis Inc, Book Onike, The King’s Work, Nigerian NewsDirect, NewsDirect TV, Outtabox, amongst others where she successfully led aggressive campaigns that yielded positive results.

Carrying on the robust journalistic legacy of the media group originally founded by the late energy journalism icon Dr. Samuel Ibiyemi, the newly appointed directors will oversee corporate strategy, innovation and financial expansion, aligning their efforts with the long-term roadmap.

The appointments take effect from June 1, 2026.
