NewsDirect Anniversary: Marwa bags exemplary leadership award in public service

Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd), has been honoured with the prestigious “Exemplary Leadership in Public Service” award by the Nigerian NewsDirect Newspaper.

The award was presented to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the 14th NewsDirect Anniversary and Award Ceremony held in Lagos on Friday.

This accolade recognises Marwa’s exceptional contributions to the NDLEA, where he has led significant advancements in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Nigeria. Under his stewardship, the agency has made remarkable progress in its mission to safeguard the nation from the dangers of drug-related crime.

The NDLEA Chairman was represented at the event by Rita Okpere, the Deputy Director of Media and Advocacy at the NDLEA. In her speech, Okpere conveyed that the award serves as a testament to General Marwa’s extraordinary leadership, unwavering determination, and commitment to excellence in public service.

While extending gratitude to the organisers for the prestigious recognition, Okpere emphasised that the award is well-deserved. She described General Marwa as an illustrious son of Nigeria who has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership across various roles in his career.

“General Marwa’s record of service is difficult to rival or match, and he continues to inspire many through his relentless dedication to public service,” she stated.

“His commitment to making Nigeria a better place for all stands as a shining example of excellence in leadership.”
