New JAMB Registrar unveils five year blueprint to modernize JAMB operations

The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Segun Aina, has unveiled a comprehensive five-year strategic development agenda designed to modernize the nation’s tertiary admissions process.

Titled “JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma,” the blueprint was introduced on his first day in office with the overarching goal of establishing the agency as Africa’s premier technology-driven assessment body.

According to a statement released on Monday by the board’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, the strategic plan is anchored on two foundational objectives, five core pillars, and seven major implementation projects.

Professor Aina emphasized that while cutting-edge technology will serve as the engine for institutional transformation, the agency’s primary focus remains centered on human experience, ensuring that every candidate’s journey is characterized by fairness, transparency, and dignity.

The five strategic pillars focus on institutional integrity, responsive customer service, sound internal governance, advanced technological innovation, and robust cross-sector partnerships.

To actualize this vision, the administration’s seven flagship initiatives include an independent audit of the board’s technology infrastructure, the pursuit of ISO 27001 information security certification, the deployment of a unified mobile application, comprehensive brand repositioning, the launch of a centralized customer service platform, a transition to paperless enterprise administration, and expanded capacity-building programs for staff.

Taking over the leadership helm from Professor Is-haq Oloyede following a decade of service, Aina described his new role as a solemn responsibility and a homecoming.

He pledged to build upon his predecessor’s achievements by cementing stronger systems that ensure merit-based placements, safeguard public confidence, and elevate the board to a global benchmark in examination administration.
