Ned Nwoko breaks silence on domestic violence allegations

Businessman and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, has dismissed viral allegations of domestic violence against his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, insisting that the crisis in their marriage stems from what he described as her ongoing struggle with drug and alcohol addiction.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Delta North lawmaker said the video circulating online, which shows Regina in tears and alleging violence, does not represent the true situation of their home. According to him, the actress has been battling substance abuse for some time, and her alleged erratic behaviour has created tension within their household.

Nwoko claimed that Regina had recently turned violent, physically assaulting three of his staff members and vandalising property, including vehicles and windows, within a short period. He added that her condition had worsened, prompting his decision to recommend rehabilitation either in Abuja or abroad.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko said. “A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital, but instead, she even threatened to kill our resident nurse for exposing her drug abuse.”

The senator further alleged that two individuals, identified as Sammy and Ann, were responsible for supplying narcotics to the actress. He accused them of deliberately sowing confusion in his home during his absence.

“I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehabilitation in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially in Jordan, where she will not have access to drugs,” he added. “I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting staff for no just cause.”

The statement comes after a viral video posted online on Saturday, October 18, 2025, showed the actress visibly distressed and shouting, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. I can’t stand the violence—it’s too much.” The footage sparked intense speculation about domestic abuse and marital breakdown.
